Walnut Creek TAPS

Teen and Parent Service Society

Building Leaders Through Service

Walnut Creek TAPS has been serving East Bay communities and beyond since 2002.

The purpose of TAPS, as a private, non-profit organization, is to provide high school girls with a variety of community service opportunities. TAPS teens develop valuable leadership, organization, and teamwork skills throughout their high school years. Parents support this learning process and work alongside them in volunteer activities.

Direct Service, Real Impact

TAPS’s purpose is exclusively educational, service-oriented, and charitable. TAPS strives for members to work directly with those in need and does not fundraise.

TAPS members engage in hands-on volunteer work across the East Bay:

Direct Service – Serve meals to unhoused neighbors, sort food at distribution centers, assist at respite events for special needs families, create care packages for foster youth

Community Support – Help at inclusive prom nights, volunteer at thrift shops benefiting crisis centers, support seniors in skilled nursing facilities, assist with animal rescue organizations

Creative Projects – Make cards for hospitalized kids and isolated seniors, organize donation drives, help with community festivals and environmental conservation events
